Accessibility Statement
Last updated:
We want every traveller to be able to use TourIts comfortably. The app supports larger text, bold text, reduced motion, high contrast, screen readers and optional haptics, and we are working towards WCAG 2.2 AA. If something is hard to use, please tell us and we will work to fix it.
1. Our commitment
TourIts aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, as applied to mobile apps, and to follow Apple and Google accessibility guidelines. Accessibility is part of how we design and test new features, not an afterthought.
2. Features that help
In Settings → Accessibility and Settings → Appearance you can:
- Text size: follow your phone’s text size or set a larger size just for TourIts.
- Bold text: make all text heavier and easier to read.
- Reduce motion: replace animations with simple fades.
- High contrast: stronger text colours and borders.
- Haptics: turn vibration feedback on or off.
- Appearance: light, dark or follow your system.
TourIts also respects matching system settings automatically.
3. Screen readers and controls
Buttons and icons have spoken labels and hints for VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android). Touch targets are designed to be at least 44 by 44 points. Information such as fairness verdicts is never conveyed by colour alone; it always includes text and a percentage. Right-to-left languages are mirrored correctly.
4. Known limitations
We are still improving:
- Some map interactions, such as panning and choosing places directly on the map, can be harder with a screen reader; the search and list views offer an accessible alternative.
- Drag-to-reorder in the trip planner has alternative move actions that are still being refined.
- Some translations of the interface are not yet available, and English is shown instead.
- Third-party content, like place details from OpenStreetMap, may be incomplete.
We update this list after each round of testing.
5. How we test
We test with VoiceOver and TalkBack, with the largest system text sizes, with Reduce Motion and Increase Contrast enabled, and with colour-blindness simulations. No formal third-party audit has been carried out yet; when one is, we will add its date and method here.
6. Feedback and contact
If you have difficulty using any part of TourIts, please contact us at support@tourits.app or through Help → Contact us. Tell us the screen, what you were trying to do and any assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 5 working days and will let you know how we plan to fix the issue.
7. Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the accessibility enforcement body in your country. In Israel, this is the Commission for Equal Rights of Persons with Disabilities at the Ministry of Justice; in the EU, the authority designated under the European Accessibility Act in your country.
